Bill cole

Bill Cole, P.E.

Bill is a recently retired Grand Rapids City Engineer.Bill will be assisting with right-of-way and easement preparation, negotiations, and acquisition. His engineering background will allow us to assist engineers, municipal officials, and developers in this important initial phase of each project. His knowledge in other land matters including Phase I ESAs, site evaluations, and project management will enhance, expand, and benefit our client relationships and services.

Thomas A. Palarz

Thomas A. Palarz, P.E.

Tom Palarz, PE has joined our staff to assist our clients in providing land acquisition services. With his recent retirement after 33 years with the Ottawa County Road Commission as Traffic & Planning Engineer and most recently as Engineering Director, Tom’s experience in the highway engineering field will provide additional expertise in addressing right-of-way acquisitions on various types of projects. Beth Y. VanderKolk

Beth Y. VanderKolk

Beth Vander Kolk is the Administrative Assistant responsible for making sure the day to day activities are performed in an efficient, cheery manner. She is usually the smiling voice on the phone. Beth was previously employed in the office at Spartan Stores corporate office. Before she began at Land Matters in early 2006, she was a stay at home mom to her three boys, and with the youngest now in high school, she decided to bring her skills back to the work force. Beth’s husband is self employed and they live in Jenison.

Kelly J. Jacobsen

Kelly J. Jacobsen

Kelly Jacobsen assists with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, easement documents, presentations and exhibit map preparation. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Natural Resource Management. Kelly worked at Moore & Bruggink, where she met her husband Marc, managing the CAD Department prior to her son being born in 2005. She now works on a part time basis at Land Matters, and spends the other time home with her son. Kelly and her family live in Coopersville.

Amy Pratt

Amy Pratt

Amy Pratt performs a variety of tasks here at Land Matters, which include research, easement document and map preparation, and overall helpfulness.Amy comes to Land Matters on a part time basis after a sabbatical from the work force where she was a stay at home mom. Prior to her children, Amy worked at Moore & Bruggink in the survey department as a department coordinator, where she was responsible for overseeing the day to day activities in this fast-paced office. Her work at Moore & Bruggink also included extensive easement preparation and knowledge of property matters. Amy is married to Dan Pratt (Driesenga & Associates) and has two children. Amy and her family reside in Ada Township. Amy is also a graduate of Western Michigan University.
